In the past week we have celebrated the life and times of the
Notorious B.I.G, including his life and his life’s work (music). There has been
much controversy of why people celebrate the 9th of march, as it was the day he was gunned down in Los Angeles. But I can assure you its not the celebration of his death by any means. The
9th mostly signifies the day that hip hop lost one of its most prized lyricist’s and personalities.

So in turn people celebrate and emulate the music of Biggie, as it is to remember what the hip hop community has lost. As with all the larger than life lyricists that have gone before their time, the day along with the birthdays, is a time to take it all in and remember the contributions to what we know as hip hop today. With all that said, the album
Biggie’s Greatest hits, also in loving memory, has been released from
Bad Boy entertainment. The
album features such tracks as:
1. Juicy
2. Big Poppa
3. Hypnotize
4. One More Chance/Stay With Me Remix
5. Get Money
6. Warning
7. Dead Wrong
8. Who Shot Ya
9. Ten Crack Commandments
10. Notorious Thugs
11. Notorious B.I.G.
12. Nasty Girl
13. Unbelievable
14. N***As Bleed
15. Running Your Mouth
16. Want That Old Thing Back
17. Fuckin You Tonight
With such a bangin playlist its hard to see how anyone would not want this disk. This album follows the release of
Biggie Duets, an album also from Bad Boy, but the major difference between the two is that
Biggie Duets is focused more on other artists giving tribute along side the original lyrics of
B.I.G, while the latest release is primarily all original tracks. Either way its worth coppin both albums as they are both hot at the moment. It is definitely good to see that the legend still lives on even ten years after such a tragedy. You can get all of
B.I.G’s albums from the iTunes store on the link of the side bar and through amazon.com as well as any local record store.
