Both locations in
New York, one being the Bronx and the other QueensBridge. This may have very well been the first official beef in hip hop. But with the beef ending with a the release of Hip Hop lives, the two artists have given a
new light to the constant beefs throughout the hip hop community. Saying that beefs can be overcome and music can be made without bloodshed. The recent release of
Hip Hop Lives combines both artists, working together to bring back the art of hip hop. The release comes after the Recent Release of
hip hop heavy weight Nas, with the ablum
Hip Hop is Dead, even though work on the release of
Hip Hop Lives started before Nas’s release. The Frenzy on the streetz is that hip hop is seeing a decline in sales and in overall audience, hence the quote
“hip hop is deadâ€, since this release my artists have gone public saying the revival of hip hop is necessary, and that a new means of reaching the right audience is needed.
The relases of
Hip Hop Lives contradicts the belief of a decline in the industry. Hopefully this release will spark new intrest throughout the community, giving rise to a new breed of artists and music. There have been many ups and downs throughout the hip hop game, with a fall in listener base around 2000, and then a gain with the rise of artists like
50 cent and Eminem, overall the game needs revival, and this release is set to do just that, bringing the
OG’s of rap back into the game.
